connecting people to Jesus in a sustaining way
|
Our mission as Sisters in Christ is to encourage and love one another and
To act boldly on our faith in Jesus Christ, within our homes, within our Church,
Within our Community and within our World.
The Women Ministry programs have been richly blessed during the past year.
Four in-depth Bible studies were offered during 2009: Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman by Beth Moore; Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed, A Study of David co-authored by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur; Loving Well by Beth Moore; and A Heart Like His, Seeking the Heart of God through a Study of David by Beth Moore. Offered weekly in both morning and evening sessions, this program continues to grow and has become well-known within our community. Women from many different area Churches have found this to be a nurturing venue in which to share their common faith.
A road trip in June provided for a group to enjoy the Living Proof Conference in Pittsburgh. This weekend event hosted speaker and author Beth Moore and Worship Leader Travis Cottrell.
The Secret Sisters prayer partner program began anew in January. Many women were richly blessed through this prayer program.
The traditional Women’s Retreat took place in February at Fleming Falls Retreat Center (Camp Mowana) in Mansfield. This ever-popular event was a sell-out. Many were blessed with the opportunity to bask in our relationship with Christ and our Sisters in Christ. Participants delved into a study, Loving Well, learning how to better enjoy a relationship with God and those around us. A performance by Christian recording artist Jennifer Shaw brought rave reviews.
The Women’s Ministries programs encourage all Sisters in Christ to be bold in reaching out to those in need and sharing Christ’s love in the world. Nancy’s Place Women’s Shelter (a branch of Faith Mission) has been adopted as an on-going service project. Collections of items needed by the Shelter were delivered several times this past year. Tours are available for those interested in learning more about the facility, the services it provides, and the women who desperately need our help. To learn more about Nancy’s Place, visit Faithmissionofohio.org (see Programs → Women’s Shelter).
Women’s Ministries flyers are available at both Welcome Centers. If you would like to learn more about our upcoming programs for 2010, please contact us at Womensministries@stlukecolumbus.com, or visit us on the web at stlukecolumbus.com (see Adult Ministries → Women’s Ministries).
